Emily Ryan has been a cross-functional technologist for more than 25 years, working in the public and private sector as a designer, full stack developer and user researcher. In 2020, she left the private sector to become a Presidential Innovation Fellow (PIF), detailed to the DOJ, where she worked on high profile, public-facing agency and White House initiatives including ADA.gov as well as serving in the Office of the Deputy Attorney General under Lisa Monaco. In 2022, she returned to the private sector to work across federal, state and local government. She now leads the Experience Practice Area at ICF Next, which comprises UX, research, content strategy and data analytics, as Partner and Sr. Director.  

Ms. Ryan holds a B.F.A. in Graphic Design from James Madison University, an M.A. in Criminal Law from George Washington University and is currently completing her thesis for an M.A. in Government, with a focus on digital media’s impact on political polarization from Harvard Extension School.
